Abstract: (20 Views) |
The present study was undertaken to explicate the family’s educational responsibility from the standpoint of Imam Reza (peace be upon him). Drawing on basic research methods, it examines primary sources attributed to Imam Reza alongside rich secondary Islamic literature on family and upbringing, including hadiths and narrated sayings. The findings reveal that Imam Reza cherished the family unit and modeled affectionate interactions with his children and spouse, offering a paradigm for familial life. His teachings on cleanliness and personal grooming, respectful conduct, expressions of love, moderation, accountability, fidelity to promises, humility, respect for others’ rights, and the etiquette of Quranic instruction remain highly relevant for addressing contemporary familial and societal challenges. In his worldview, the family occupies a dignified position, and while parents bear the foremost duty of education, this does not absolve governing authorities of their responsibilities. Imam Reza emphasizes parents’ awareness of their educational obligations and underscores the importance of religious, social, and academic education. Accordingly, it is recommended that curriculum planners develop guidelines and publications grounded in Imam Reza’s pedagogical methods and draft a formal charter delineating parents’ educational duties. |
