The present study aims to identify the factors influencing women's empowerment and to develop an appropriate model based on the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) technique. Utilizing a mixed-methods (qualitative and quantitative) approach, data were gathered from various studies to identify key determinants of women's empowerment, including gender culture, socio-economic status, social awareness, social participation, cultural capital, social capital, media, family structure, religion, and personality traits. These factors were organized into a self-interaction matrix questionnaire and administered to 15 experts in the field of sociology. The results indicate that gender culture and socio-economic status are positioned at the top of the hierarchy of factors influencing women's empowerment. Gender culture, social participation, social awareness, and media were identified as key variables, while family structure, cultural capital, and socio-economic status were categorized within the "linkage" sector with varying degrees of influence. Given that gender culture and socio-economic status emerged as the primary drivers, the findings suggest that both at individual and social levels—particularly relevant institutions—should adopt strategies to enhance the ability to learn new patterns in cultural interactions to provide appropriate behavioral responses, while simultaneously strengthening individuals' socio-economic standing. |
