This study set out to find a model for the structural relationships of supportive dyadic coping of the self and that of the spouse and marital satisfaction with the mediating role of relationship closeness in married female teachers in Shiraz. The method of this research was correlation-descriptive. The statistical population of the study was comprised of all teachers in Shiraz in 2021. The research sample was comprised of 204 married female teachers in District 1 of Shiraz who were selected through convenience sampling method. The participants filled out the Dyadic Coping Questionnaire (Bodenmann, 2008), ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale (Fowers & Olson, 1993) and the Unidimensional Relationship Closeness Scale (Dibble et al., 2012). The data were analyzed using path analysis method using AMOS-25 and SPSS-25 software. The results showed that there were significant dual relationships between the variables. The direct path of supportive dyadic coping of the spouse was significant for marital satisfaction and in contrast, the direct path of supportive dyadic coping of self was not significant for marital satisfaction. The AMOS software bootstrap test was also used to determine the significance of indirect effects and the results showed that the relationship closeness can play a mediating role in the relationship between supportive dyadic coping of the self and that of the spouse with marital satisfaction in married female teachers. Based on the results, it can be stated that the support of couples in times of crisis plays a significant role in marital satisfaction and relationship closeness can play an important role as well. |
