The Relationship between Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Teachers’ Knowledge Management
S. Rezaee
This research was undertaken to examine the relationship between Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and teachers’ knowledge management. To achieve this goal, 200 teachers were selected in Kermanshah and Kangavar through random stratified sampling. The instrumentation consisted of ICT (Akbulut et al, 2007) and Knowledge Management Questionnaires (Salimi-Moshiri, 2010). The data were analyzed via Pearson correlation coefficient and step-wise regression. Results indicated that there was a significant, positive correlation between ICT, its components and knowledge management. In addition, from among components of ICT, three components, i.e., teaching-learning method, infrastructure, and professional development, can predict knowledge management. In other words, the other components of ICT did not possess any predictive power. Undoubtedly, utilizing state-of-the-art ICT in schools made a major contribution to families’ use of modern ICT, and this promotes students’ learning.
