Abstract:   (247 Views)
The present study aims to explain the social and cultural factors influencing the tendency toward delinquency among high school students in Rasht. This research is applied in terms of its objective and descriptive-correlational in nature, conducted using a survey method. Data were collected through a questionnaire. The statistical population of this study consisted of high school students in Rasht in 2022-2023 school year, totaling 53,078 individuals. The sampling method used was probabilistic-quota stratification, and the sample size was estimated to be 540 individuals based on G*Power software. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS and Amos software, employing descriptive and inferential statistics. According to the research findings, there is a significant relationship between the dependent variable—students' tendency toward delinquency—and independent variables such as social learning, social bonding, and social capital. Additionally, the distribution of the delinquency tendency variable was estimated at 41% of students being at a high level and 29% at a low level. The results suggest that a student’s social bond with institutions such as family and school weakens when they develop a tendency toward delinquency and learn criminal behaviors, leading to a reduction in social capital within the family.
