The Role of Self-Efficacy and Life Skills in Predicting PsychologicalWell-Being of High School Students in Hormozgan Province

This research was carried out to assess the role of self-efficacy and life skills in predicting psychological well-being of high school students in Hormozgan province. This study is a descriptive and correlational one. For the purpose of sampling multi-stage cluster sampling method was utilized and 385 students were chosen. The instrumentation comprised General Self-Efficacy-Sherer (GSESH) Questionnaire as well as Ryff's Psychological Well-being Scale. Simple multiple regression analysis and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. According to the results, there was a significant correlation between self-efficacy and psychological well-being (r=0.673, p<0.000). In addition, there was a significant correlation between life skills and psychological well-being (r=0.571, p<0.000). Furthermore, the results of regression analysis indicated that there were relationships among variables of life skills, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being. In general, life skills and self-efficacy of students accounted for about 32 percent of variance of psychological well-being.
