Effects of Video Games and Cyber Games on the Growth of Creativity and Promotion of Problem Solving Skills in IsfahaniGuidance School Students

Abstract:
Fast developments of world new technology and easy access to cyber environments for children and their intendancy to video and cyber games and their active presence in coffee nets and game nets, made it necessary to consider the effects of cyber environments on their mind and psyche of children. In recent years video games and cyber games along with other communication means have managed to attract a vast number of children to themselves. In this regard, this paper analyzes the effects of video games and cyber games on the growth of creativity and promotion of problem solving skills in Isfahani children between 10 to 15 years old. To reach this goal, 120 male and female students of middle school were chosen and categorized in two groups of Control and experiment. The data was analyzed based on Regression analysis method. The findings showed that video games and cyber games has a direct relation with problem solving skills. It means that such games cause creativity and problems solving skills of children to improve.
