A Survey on the Identity Situation in Secondary Level Rethinking on Functions of Educational System

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is analysis and investigating the identity situation in Isfahan students ofthird grade of high school, With regard to therole and importance balanced and integrated development of identity in cultivating the different characteristics and competencies of each person,this research seeks to present a clear and comprehensive picture from personal,social,religious and national identity in the students. Statistical population of this research are third grade studentsin Isfahan city in the 1389- 1390 school year. Among these, 294 students selected through cluster sampling. The research instrument is a researcher – made questionnaire which its reliability was investigated and confirmed through Cronbach Alpha method.The  results indicated  that students  have a  appropriate level from personal and national identity but they are  confronted with some limitations and shortcomings from point  of  view of religious and social identity .In addition , in  this  research  the  relationship identity situation of student with  some of the demographic  variables are examined .
